The nineteenth ISCLR Symposium will be held at the Skamania Lodge in Stevenson, Washington, USA. This meeting venue is on the Columbia River outside of Portland Oregon.

The dates are 13th August to 18th August 2017. President-Elect, Prof Philip Morgan has working hard with the program moderators and keynote speakers to put together an excellent program for the meeting. The format will be familiar but with significant changes.

Call for abstracts
The call for abstracts from members and for student grants for the 19th Symposium of the International Society for Contact Lens Research to be held August 14-18,2017 at the Skamania Lodge in Stevenson, Washington, USA is now open.
Members abstracts: Members are encouraged to review the 19th ISCLR Scientific Sessions Agenda. Please identify the session in which you would like your presentation to be delivered. Member abstracts not accepted by session moderators will be presented as posters. The member abstract submission form is here.
Student Grants: Grants to support student attendance at the meeting are awarded based on competitive scientific abstract submission. Students with chosen abstracts will be expected to present a poster and to deliver a verbal presentation of their work in the student session. Some of the students with successful abstracts may also be asked to present in one of the other meeting sessions. The student abstract form contains further details about grant applications and is here. If a student abstract is not successful, there is now an option for it to be automatically submitted on behalf of a member if they are a co-author.
Please ensure we get the best student presentations by circulating the student form to people who you think might be appropriate. Moderator contact information is available in the Members Only section of the ISCLR website. The abstract submission deadlines are:

We have booked a block of rooms for conference attendees at the Skamania Lodge. This is the preferred accommodation as we have negotiated discounted room rates based on our projected occupancy levels during the meeting.
The Lodge ISCLR room rate is US$199 per night plus 9.7% taxes and a $21 resort fee.

Breakfast and a buffet lunch will be provided by ISCLR each day of sessions (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday).
Dress Code for the Meeting
The dress code for the meeting is casual and this also includes the Welcome Reception on the Sunday evening. The gala dinner is to be held on the evening of the Thursday and the dress code is business casual. The venue is a short walk from the lodge.
Accompanying guests are welcome to attend the Welcome Reception (no charge) and the Gala dinner (a charge will be made). To facilitate this please provide this information on the registration form.
Internet is included throughout the hotel, including the conference facilities.
The meeting venue is on the Columbia River near Portland, Oregon (PDX). Information on the closest airport can be found at: www.pdx.com/PDX . Most major US airlines fly into this airport.
The hotel is 42 miles (50 minutes by car) away from the airport. The recommended ways to get to the hotel is by an airport shuttle service (estimated $50), Uber (estimated $63), or car rental.
As in previous years, the society intends to offer stipends to full members attending the entire meeting. For reference, for the last meeting the levels of reimbursement were 35%-55% of estimated costs, based on your position in the society (members, moderators, councillors or executive).
